    Hi everyone,

    I am new to this wonderful forum and I am very happy to be part of it. I just purchased the roger CPA review course as I will have 3 months of freedom (Not really)..

    Anyways, I’m basically unemployed right now and got until Sep 12th when I start my graduate studies. How many CPA exam can be done in these 3 months? I don’t want to spend too much time. Is it reasonable to shoot for FAR + (BEC or Audit) during these 3 months?

    My plan is to study 5 hours a day, 6 days a week. SO 30hr a week give or take. I’m not married, employed, or in school during the summer. Hoping to tackle two parts before graduate school.

    Also, a friend of mine gave me Wiley test bank for 2013/2014 (40th edition). I am wondering if the material is old now, or is it absolutely fine to use to supplement rogers CPA review?

    I would like your advice on my situation as I am afraid of not using the best method to study.

    Excuse my grammar (I am not a native speaker)

    Thanks to you all

    When I first started in Jan last year I was in Becker Live courses. They had it set up so that I would sit for REG at the end of Feb and then sit for BEC at the end of March. That would be about 3 months. BEC is only 6 chapters in Becker so it was possible to do 1.5-2 chapters a week and you could sit in close to 4 weeks. I would not use an old test bank and instead purchase the NINJA MCQ.

    You could study now and take Reg July 13th (almost 7 weeks), then BEC Aug 17th-31 ~ 5 weeks.

    REG 77 Feb14
    BEC 13*, 79 Aug14
    FAR 64**, 76 Nov14
    AUD 89 Feb15

    *Exited exam after first testlet
    **Only studied F1-F6 out of 10 Becker chapters

    Well if you have 3 months and you really hit it you can pass the whole test, however since you don't seem to want to do that I would aim for 2 sections.

    BEC 87 Feb 14
    REG 84 Apr 14
    FAR 82 Nov 14
    AUD 86 Feb 15

    Some people pass all 4 in 3-4 months while working full-time, so you could get all 4 done if you wanted to work hard at it for the next 3 months. That would be my advice. Roger is great material, and the Wiley MCQs can still be helpful though a bit old, but I'd consider purchasing a subscription to a current test bank as well if you are able to. For 3 months' access, it shouldn't be too expensive.

    I have not seen many people passing 4 parts in one window,so I wouldn't waste my money on trying to achieve such a task unless you have a great short term memory, or you graduated Magna Cum Laude from a decent College. If you just finished College, you might be able to pass two parts. One of the dumbest Accountants I know passed all 4 parts in one window, he has an almost photographic memory, but he is dumb as a rock when performing at work. I made senior, 1 year before him, and I helped him a lot with his reconciliations, but it took me 2 windows just to pass FAR.

    FAR= 72-84
    Audit= 73-82
    BEC= 74-75
    Reg=77

    it doesn't matter how many exam parts you can pass in 3 months and nobody can predict how many exam parts you can pass in 3 months not even you can predict its simple a waste of time.

    Some people pass the exam in one window working full time, with 6 kids, wife, mistresses and being sick etc etc and others take a years even working only part-time with no other responsibilities.

    sometimes its pure luck that u pass.. other times its due to pure knowledge

    What you can be 100% sure is that:

    If you start studying and pass one section you have 18 months to sit the rest of the sections or you will loose credit. So you have to keep studying to pass all four exams once you pass one section.

    So the question you should be asking should I sit the exam now or not.

    AUD 69, 92 7/15 Gleim and Ninja test bank
    FAR sometime in 10/15 Gleim
    BEC not taken
    REG not taken

    I think 2 exams is reasonable but would shoot for no less than 40 hours per week studying. People with jobs manage to get 20-30 hours per week in, if you have absolutely no other responsibilities dig harder.

    I studied 3.5 weeks for audit and 4 weeks for bec. About 6 weeks for far plus a few days here and there while I was on vacation. About 7 weeks for reg which I thought was to long and I feel it hurt me. That's the timeframe I used and I passed. Barely passed but passed lol. After I finished the Becker course I used ninja mcq. Also, I'm unemployed, not married, no kids so my only priority was studying. Of course things do intervene… Needy boyfriend, errands, parents need stuff etc. But the main focus was studying. I never gave myself a set time of, “ok I'm studying 5 hours”. I just woke up ate breakfast and hit the books. I would take frequent breaks to rest my brain and do other stuff. But I always came back to studying. Also I tried to take ONE full day off from studying (usually Sunday). Good luck!

    Completing 2 is perfectly reasonable without stressing yourself to the max in my opinion. Start going up to 3 or 4 in 3 months is doable.. To some people, but that would be extremely draining! Good Luck!

    BEC - 76 7/22/14
    AUD - 84 8/30/14
    REG - 75 10/16/14
    FAR - 87 11/24/14

    I agree, 5 hours/day considering you don't have a job is not enough. Crank that up to at least 8 hours/day. Don't work MCQ until you get them right, work them until you don't get them wrong.
