What are your goals? Do you feel you are on track? Are you behind in trying to achieve them? Setbacks? And if there are setbacks what are you doing to get back on track?

    My goals:

Pass BEC and REG in 2014

Land a public accounting job in 2015

Pass FAR and AUD in 3rd quarter of 2015

I had a slight setback when I did poorly for BEC and got a 71 for REG, but I plan on passing both this year.

Great question. We talk about this in martial arts– how do you know what you are trying to achieve in life and how to get there if you don't set goals, and then assess where you are.

    Original goals for 2014:

    Earn black belt – check

Finish post-bac accounting certificate program – check

Work on incorporating more accounting-type roles into my workday – work in progress

Prep for and take AUD in Q1, and then decide what to do from there – check

    Additional goals:

Prep for and take FAR in Q2 – check

Prep for and take REG in Q3 – check

Prep for and take BEC in Q4 – this is scheduled

    So far so good.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Well one of my goals was to pass BEC and REG in 2014. I can check that of the list.

My adjusted goal after I didn't meet my first deadline was to be done with the exam in 2014. Got it. Yayy! Now my goal is to lose all this CPA/baby weight by the end of 2015. I could probably do it faster than that if I was really strict with myself, but I think I'm just going to take the slow and steady approach and enjoy life along the way. 😉

Mamabear, you know you can double your CPA review materials as workout equipments right? Just use the Book for biceps curls or use them as running weights. LOL!

I completed my 2014 New Years resolutions of becoming a CPA, and not buying booze and learning how to brew good beer.

Next up is my “how to” booklet for re-sellers based on craigslist as showcased by the man writing this blog:

    recraigstlist.com

Next year the goal will be to pay off the debt incurred while studying for the exam and being unable to do any side hustles in the mean time…babies are expensive.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

My goal for 2015 is to pass my remaining 3 parts. I'm learning that with this exam its best to set smaller, achievable goals so you don't lose your mind. So my new immediate goal is to finish my remaining R3 questions before 5:00!

Pass REG on February 28, simultaneously surviving year-end at work.

3 out of 4 passed and sitting for FAR on May 31. Will lose credit for Audit if I don't pass FAR by Aug 4. I love leases and bonds.

My original goal was to pass AUD in Nov with REG in January and BEC in February. Due to a setback in Aud the new goal is as follows: AUD late January and pass, REG in May (due to busy season) and BEC in July, with Masters in a Taxation program in 2016.

I went back to work and my toddler started daycare and now he is sick all_the_time. As a result preparing for audit is taking me forever, 4 + something months. I keep thinking that I might actually lose FAR if I am this slow. All my plans and deadlines are screwed up

Awww Anjanja. Sick babies are no fun. I'm sorry you're going through that. Can you read or practice MCQ while you cuddle with him or does he want you to be all about him when he is sick? I've got two that would just want to be held so I could still get things done as long as I am sitting down with them in my lap and I've got 1 that would pitch a fit if she wasn't my sole priority when she is sick. Hopefully you've got one that will let you do other things as long as you are holding him. Even so, worrying about them makes concentration more difficult. Hopefully he will get better soon so you can knock these exams out! Good luck!

Thanks! I hope it will get better. No, he just wants to be picked up and then put down again. Then cry, pick up, put down and repeat. And no sleeping.

Some quiet cuddling with cartoons would be nice though, that was my initial understanding of early childhood. You do that and than your 2 yo walks to the kitchen and makes sandwiches for himself and his parents while we are still watching wall-e lol

Ha! I wish. My 5 year old is the one that requires all the attention. I thought it was going to get easier. Nope!

My loose goal would to be having all 4 sections passed in 2015.

My original specific goal looked like this:

    REG pass 4th, 2014 – nope, failed

    FAR 1st 2015

    AUD 2nd 2015

BEC maybe 2nd or 3rd 2015, be done by summer.

    Revision:

    REG pass 1st, 2015

BEC pass 1st 2015?!?!?! This is my latest shoot the moon thoughts, not sure if possible.

FAR and AUD, we will see how REG goes.

Outside goal – find health and balance in this process and the most efficient study pattern for me.
