    3) Because CPA’s are basically the coolest people you’ll ever meet…

Okay maybe not… but it looks a lot cooler on business cards? That’s definitely a good reason.

@angelmiguel…lol…so many people in my office took this exam while walking 15 miles…uphill…in the snow.

@jokami…marriage, kids and in need of a new challenge? That sounds very familiar. Glad I'm not the only crazy mom around. 🙂

So when people ask you- what you do for a living? then you can say you're a CPA. I always felt embarrased to say I was an accountant…lol

I wonder this myself sometimes. I'm 31, have a good job that's close to home, it affords my (single) lifestyle, I do what I want when I want, etc.. However as a man, I realize that to take care of a family (one day) and all that and start working towards retirement and possibly buying this place out I HAVE to be a CPA… honestly that's the biggest mental hurdle for me, is the “Why?” However, as others have said I don't want to wake up one day at 40 or 50 and still don't have my Cert. and have to do it then. So I guess it's worth sacrificing now…?? I think this has been my biggest hurdle to passing so far- no skin off my back if I don't pass- yet.

    AUD - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    FAR - ('16) 54 - Becker

I have been on this horrible journey for almost 3 years. Yes some years I wasn't committed enough due to work… so I changed that! I got another job and here I am still not licensed. I've been studying ELL for almost a year now(minus two months of tax season hiatus). I am exahusted. I want to sleep, see my family more and move on with my life! But it will be worth, I cannot give up now. This if by far the most difficult challenge I've faced personally. I don't know if OP is just starting out or not, but keep going it will be worth it.

CA CPA - All because of the journey listed below
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    FAR - 53('10), 8/25/12 79 PASSED!
    REG - 66('11), 69('12), 12/06/12 77 PASSED!!
    BEC - 58('10), 74('12), 01/05/13 77 PASSED!!!
    AUD - 43('11), 66('12), 69('13), 74('13) 7/29/13 85 PASSED!!!!!
