why the CPA?

    I’m curious why do CPA firms want their accountant to become CPAs? I know You must be a CPA to sign off. But why else would they want you to be a CPA ? I know it’s a “CPA” firm but once your a CPA are they allowed to charge the client more? Any explanations would be great.

    It sets you apart from others in the field. It shows increased dedication to the profession and the ability to take on challenges when needed. Business is constantly changing and seeing one take their profession seriously shows a lot, so it's desired by employers, as well as clients..
