Out of curiosity who is in accounting for the fun or is it for the job prospects? I personally love reading FASB pronouncements and IRS cases, and when a balance sheet balances; that’s my Jenna Jameson. Okay, that may be a little extreme, but are there any other people like me?

Of course I have other hobbies; but I could almost consider accounting a hobby

I enjoy accounting. Like others have said, I love Excel. I pretty much live in Excel. 😛 Started playing around in Excel when I was about 8 and have been hooked ever since! Beyond Excel, I like accounting because it is concrete but not entirely routine. There's rules but it still requires thought.

I don't spend my evenings and weekend reading the AL just for fun, but I do look up the financial statements of companies in the news sometimes. Accounting isn't my life, but it's a nice part of it.

…and it does a nice job of paying the bills. 😛

I love it! I'm particularly fond of financial reporting and tax accounting. All the equations and rules make sense to me. Also, it isn't a shabby career either. 😉

Nope my current job I'm in the trucking industry and a full charge bookkeeper. For where I live I need to pass the CPA to move up anywhere.
