Is this an exam that people take after all 4 sections of the CPA exam are complete? Does the timing matter? Does every state require it? Is this an online exam?

You can take it before the CPA exam if you want. You can do an online exam or a paper exam.

Is this just a basic ethics college course or is it something totally different?

I wouldn't say its a basic college ethics course. Definitely don't underestimate the Ethics exam. Took me 4 hours to do. I thought it would be easy ethics questions, but they are super specific questions that aren't obvious. Had to go back through the slides (since I didn't get the book pdf that your supposedly supposed to get) and look up like every single answer. It's 50 questions (if I remember right) and you have to get 90%+. If you do the online test you have 3 chances to pass, after that you will be forced to use snail mail to send the exam in.

Where or how do you sign up for this course? I'd like to take care of this during the 10 week wait for Q2 score release.

It actually varies by state. Some states you have to wait to take it after you pass the CPA exams.

In MA you don't have to take an ethics exam to be licensed (silly trade off your experience has to be specifically in public accounting or a masters degree so they're not doing any big favors by sparing an open book test).

Didn't know this. I guess I would check your state requirements OP. But paper or online, I would definitely go online.

This is the ethics exam that Colorado requires. I assume its the same one most other states do as well.

I'd definitely take the online version. If you took an Accounting Ethics class in college it will be really easy. In Colorado you need a 90% score to pass. Since you can take the exam an unlimited number of times I decided to just try and take it without actually watching the videos or reading the textbook. Got a 93%.
