Oddly, cost accounting was probably the least difficult for me. Tax was a close second, probably because I've been doing my own returns for a million years, have bought and sold property, relocated for work, had dependents, filed under different statuses at different times in my life, blah blah y blah.
BEC: Fall 2016
AUD: Spring 2016
REG: Summer 2016
FAR: RETAKE
Cost accounting was a hard one for me as well. Probably because for me the material felt very different than any of the other accounting classes I had to take.
I'll have to say cost accounting and intermediate accounting 2. This last one almost made me quit accounting, but I studied harder and went to tutorials. So, that's how I graduated.
Intro to financial Accounting LOL yeah the first accounting class i took. It was hella hard and then it was Managerial and Cost accounting. What the hell all the classes were difficult.
I will have to say Intermediate Accounting II, it was the only class I dropped and retook b/c I was borderline C/D. Our professor let us drop after the final if we didn't get the grade we wanted.
Cost accounting was an absolute nightmare, it was known as the weeder class because it removed the students that were not what the college considered the brightest.
FAR-76 First attempt.
AUD-79 First attempt.
REG-79 First attempt.
BEC-79 First attempt.
Intermediate 1 because the teacher was an ass clown. One of those power trip types. If I could have a free punch in the face to anyone it would be that guy.
Either Accounting Information Systems or Fund & Gov't.
AIS's first project set me back. It was an online course, and you bought this packet full of paperwork. Checks, deposit slips, bills of ladings, pick orders, etc.. Then you had to create a manual accounting system. I didn't give myself anywhere near the time needed to sort through that nightmare.
Fund & Gov't accounting I just never could really grasp. I fudged through that course and that section of FAR.
Governmental Accounting was the toughest for me. Every other accounting class seems to build on one another except for gov accounting. It was unlike any other.
Auditing. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. None of the concepts made sense to me while in the classroom so I had a real hard time learning it. It makes a lot more sense with real experience. But in a classroom setting, it just feels like you have no idea what you are doing. I did well since I was able to memorize and regurgitate the material. But does that mean I learned anything in the class? Not really, and it was really frustrating the entire time.
Results from cramming every single time:
AUD - 76 (05/25/13)
BEC - 74 (11/30/12), 84 (10/05/13) [Note: Retake because I didn't finish written portion...]
FAR - 77 (08/17/13)
REG - 86 (07/06/13)
I'm with Silver auditing 100%. That class was so hard my lowest grade. Everything is so conceptual and every question has three right answers but you need the most right answer. It's ridiculous.
