What should I do?

    Hey everyone! I have a little (BIG) dilemma. Many moons back (May) I got approved and ordered my NTS for FAR and AUD. Scheduled FAR for 7/27 and AUD for 8/30.

    FAR is 11 days away and I feel like I know nothing. I have probably covered around 60% of the material and trending pretty bad on MCQ. 88% on section 1 and 56% on section 2, but that is only because I have only touched section A-H on the material and MCQ and not I through N, and beyond. Haven’t included those sections in my MCQ. Haven’t even touched the SIMS. Well, I just looked at 1, the first one and it was about partnerships, a topic I just covered in my NINJA book readings, but the SIM blew my mind. Got a 0% on it. So, I am very FAR away from being ready. I of course can cover a lot in 11 days, but not nearly enough, right?

    So, here are 3 scenarios I am thinking of:

    (1) Keep the schedule and test dates. Test FAR on the 27th and more than likely fail. Then cram the next 4-5 weeks for AUD. Then apply for another NTS and test FAR again in the first week of October. Damned if I also fail AUD. 4-5 weeks enough? especially right after stressing over FAR?

    (2) Reschedule AUD for first/second week of October. Reschedule FAR for end of August where I was originally going to take AUD. It will of course cost me a chunk of money since I am within that 1 month schedule change rule. How much is it? A full price of a new test? So with this, I will get an extra 4-5 weeks of FAR studying. I will also get 5-6 weeks for AUD rather than 4-5.

    (3) Reschedule FAR for first week of October and Reschedule AUD for end of November?

    Thanks! Damn I do not want then 6-8 month process turn into a 3 year ordeal.

    I would reschedule so #2. Also eliminate distractions to keep you from studying. My wife understands this. Also since you have Ninja instead of Becker, Peter Olinto talks a lot about the money you will get for passing in terms of possible raise etc.

    Eyes on the prize and put your nose in the books!

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

    I choose number 2. The rescheduling fee is only $35 if down over 5 days out, but under 30.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

    I would choose #2 as well. The rescheduling fees aren't significant whereas taking a section when you don't feel confident and haven't studied enough costs you a lot more due to having to reapply (section fee + app fee).

    CPA (MN) officially NOW DONE AS OF 8/4/15:
    * FAR – 79 (11/2014)
    * BEC – 82 (1/2013; lapsed 2014), 71 (10/2014), 83 (7/11/15)
    * REG – 89 (11/2012; lapsed 2014), 79 (10/2014)
    * AUD – 74 (11/2013), 72 (4/2014), 89 (8/2014)

    Ethics - 91 (7/15/15)

    Used CPA Excel Silver and CPA Excel Iphone App. From 2012 to mid-2014 I was also in law school fulltime while working fulltime.

    I choose #2. The only thing is don't make the mistake and procrastinate just because you have given yourself more time (I know because I have made this mistake myself) and you're back to where you are now…wishing you had taken studying more seriously. Definitely make good use of your time. Thankfully a change fee up to 5 days of the exam is $35.

    FAR - (11/01/14) 71 (02/07/15) 79
    AUD - (04/30/15) 86
    BEC - (07/21/15) 73 (10/01/15) 75
    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

    Thanks for the help everyone. #2 is what I am going to do. I definitely have to watch out and not take a little vacation just because I bought some extra time. Hopefully these extra 4-5 weeks will help me pass.
