I need to retake REG and BEC. I used Becker originally but their prices are more than I wish to spend. I looked at Wiley but I really would like to see lectures and I do not think it comes with them.

Can you guys give me some recommendations?

Everyone here uses something different, and most have had success with what they used. A better question may be, “What should I stay away from?”

Your success is contingent on your own performance and effort. The material can be selected based off your own learning style, needs, and restrictions. Obviously, Becker is too high in price for you, so start benchmarking prices. Is price your only consideration? After that, determine what learning style you have. Review the courses' reputations for what type of learner they are geared towards.

    FAR - 94
    AUD - 99
    REG - 88
    BEC - TBD

I'm not sure if you know, but Becker has a half-price discount for returning students. I just ordered mine (again, ugh). My previous employer paid for my first tuition, so now I get to pay my own tuition half-off. Regardless, it's still very expensive, especially if that learning style doesn't work for you. I'm thinking of supplementing with Wiley, but I can't even imagine spending any more money right now…

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

Yaeger and Roger both use the Wiley book. Yaeger uses the wiley book exclusively for lectures and homework and Roger uses his own book for his lectures but the wiley book for homework.

I used Becker and really liked it but to be honest I didn't really trust it when it came to the extremely complex stuff. I found (especially in FAR) that the lectures didn't really explain the conceptual theory behind the notes. So I actually pulled out my old college textbooks and read the chapters on the stuff I couldn't remember. I found this helped me recall the the underlying point of the material and it helped me immensely. I would learn the concept and think about it until I really understood it. Then I would go back to the Becker lecture and do the MCQs. Obviously if you don't have your books anymore (like most sane, non pack rat people) this won't work for you. However you could always pick up some cheap textbooks online like at half.com…just a suggestion.

    Good luck my friend!
