I’m currently working part time when studying for this monster of an exam. I work 20 hours per week. However, I would still say that work is a joke compared to studying. I’d say that studying for 5 hours makes me much more tired than working a full day.

    Thoughts?

Kudos to those brave souls working full time when taking the CPA.

I find studying to be far more exhausting than working. I can easily stay at work until 2am and not think twice about it. I get in a zone and it's fine. With studying it's a constant battle to remain focused. I hate it.

Parenting is, by far, the most exhausting (but by far the most rewarding) of the 3 activities mentioned in this thread :).

For me working is more tiring. There's pretty much only one option – in front of the pc screen. Once my eyes give out, I'm shot. There's not much variance to what I do and when it needs to be done. Schedules are nice for overall planning (for vacations, dr appts, etc) but the day-to-day gets a little boring. For me, boring = tired.

With studying I use enough different methods that I can bounce around from more intense (reading/note taking/piles of MCQs) to “lighter” studying (flashcards, NINJA notes/audio). I feel like I can vary and control my study habits and methods better than with my job. Which – is a large part of why I'm getting my CPA. For job “freedom” to open up opportunities and find what works best for me.

FAR - 73, rematch in early April
    AUD - 5/14
    REG - 8/14
    BEC - 11/14
