bored. suffering through blaw and just spending time looking at subaru wrx’s. As an accountant I always search for the best VALUE and it seems to be a clear winner…..to a 23 year old.

    My “whip”

I currently drive a 2006 ford taurus SEL…..Leather, aftermarket deck, speakers, and subwooofffff. Just rolled over 111,111 miles. She has taught me a lot about car maintenance and has held up well, having an engineer do it yourself handy man as a father definitely helped too.

    My want

Looking at getting 2013 wrx end of next year as the phase out this body style. Hatchback, Dark silver grey with tinted windows.

I have a 2005 Pontiac GTO 6-speed manual. I'm hoping to still have her in 5 years, just because she's an awesome sports car! But the car that I will want in 5 years is an Audi R8. A bit on the expensive side, but hey, a girl can dream right? 🙂

I have a paid off 2006 crysler sebring. I don't really care if I have this car in 5 years or not at this point. I think I will be more interested in buying a fairly decent priced condo/house. But if I was interested in getting another vehicle, I'd probably want a used SUV, like a Tahoe, as I do a lot of outdoor stuff.

My fun car is 04 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6 Speed manual and for the boring winters I have 01 Honda Civic coupe.

In the future I would probably get Audi Q7 for my wife and S4/5 for myself… yeah maybe in my dreams.

Gotta buy the house first though…

@ UCFCPA My mom just got 2012 Miata, unfortunately I'm too tall and wide for the damn thing, good value for what you get with them though. Although I would love a nice M3 or S4/5 I can't afford a new one and don't trust used sports cars….

Paid off my '03 Grand Prix a few yrs back… going to buy the new Ford Fusion Hybrid next year. Relative works at Ford so I get a nice discount plus I've never had a brand new car before and this one isn't that expensive.

2003 Mazda MPV minivan with 103K miles (bought new). I'd love to have something new but don't really want to spend the $$. I might check out the 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon when it comes out late next year – looks like it might be a good replacement dog hauler. Hopefully I'll have passed the CPA exam by then and have a new full-time job, otherwise the MPV will be hanging around for quite a while longer!

@ samdiegoCPA I believe you should hold off until January because I think there are hybrid tax credits. It's a goofy system and they only have a set amount available per model so as long as you buy in beginning of year before they hit their numbers your credit will be maximized

Here's a link so you have an idea of what you could expect:

I was forced to buy a new car a few months ago since my black Jeep Cherokee wasnt visually appealing in front of our office. I bought the car for $500 and drove it for 4 years without throwing money at it. Now i am driving a fully loaded 12 Malibu LTZ and i do not feel right driving it.

@Da Bears – Thanks!! It wouldn't probably be til March or so (my wish)… my parents are going to come out here to visit in July so I bet they will try to get me to wait til then so they can drive it out, ugh. I'll definitely want to max my savings though.

I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima with 171,000 miles that has gotten me through HS, Undergrad, and hopefully the MAcc. In 5 years I hope to be driving this beast. But…. I love me some Subaru's.
