What changed after you got the CPA that wouldn’t have happened had you not obtained the CPA? How did your life change?

Do colleagues/boss/peers treat you with more respect?

Did you get a promotion/raise/job that you wouldn’t had?

How long did it take to start feeling the benefits?

Did you expect more or less recognition?

Did it change your life for the better or was it not as beneficial as you thought it would be?

@jydotcom: That's cool! Where did you go to, if you don't mind me asking? I am still undecided on what to do next…. stick with BOE or try luck in private industry….but with limited experience I doubt I can find a job which would pay $70K or more….Anything less than that doesn't make sense at this point….provided I have bills to pay! If I had a rich husband, that would be a different story 😉

@ tough_kitty – I left to the DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency). I'm assuming your an ATA? Federal agencies pay fairly well with the same benefits as the State. You should look up the GS scales. I started as a GS-09 and will be a GS-11 next month, and GS-12 one year later. You might take a pay cut in the beginning, but you will definitely recover it in a few years.

    BEC - Passed!
    AUD - ??
    REG - ??
    FAR - (July 2014)

Using Roger CPA Review, Wiley Test Bank, and NINJA Notes/Video/MCQ.

@jydotcom: oh, sounds good! Thanks for the tip. I still need to apply for the US citizenship before I can apply for the federal govt positions but it is definitely something to consider if they pay more! And you guessed it, I am an ATA 🙂

I just need to find the extra $700 for the US citizenship application! 😉
