What are some of your hobbies (no pun intended for regulation studies) - Page 2

    I haven’t seen this type of thread and I’m curious if I’m the only oddball here that likes to read mythology and ancient manuscripts for fun, and get lost in Wikipedia for hours reading about the etymology of names in mythology.

    Anyone else have an oddball hobby like that you could never figure out how to turn into a career? I also like reading about numbers and their qualitative meanings relative to cultures and people. I also have strange fascinations with symbols and dreams.

    If anything…just list some of your hobbies so I can get a glimpse into your life and not feel like such a creep.

    Thanks…IT will help us study.

    I passed reg with an 88 so don’t tell me to be an archaeologist or that I’m in the wrong field….everyone knows that accountants can be well read or have asbergian tendencies. It’s not a hindrance to be a nerd fig.

    @10key The best weight lifting tip anyone can ever give you is keep a journal, and every time you approach a set make sure you do all you can do to get at least one more rep than the same set on your last workout session. For your body to improve it needs to do something it has never done before and adapt accordingly.

    I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

    "Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

    I wish I was a bookworm, G3. I'm so envious of those who have the patience to read (my boyfriend included)!

    The underside of my bed is filled with my hobbies: i love to knit and make jewelry. But I haven't had time for either for several years now (finished a master's in accounting last year while working full time, and now am doing this CPA testing). I so look forward to the day when I can relax again. I also paint, but that is a bit more than a hobby since I sell a lot of my paintings through dealers. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to paint much lately either.

    @Quinacridone

    My best friend makes jewelry and paints as well – she says it's very relaxing.

    I know some people who don't have the patience for any reading except one particular genre – maybe you'll fall in love with a certain writing style or author – it only takes one book to get hooked 🙂

    I'm obsessed with planning vacations and traveling. Whenever I travel with family or friends, I get to book everything and research everything (usually TripAdvisor) and it makes me giddy beyond belief.

    I also love cooking and try to eat as raw vegan as possible (10 years vegetarian). I just bought a food processor, so I plan to start browsing a lot more recipes and making delicious foods (I binge on vegan peanut butter cups regularly and they are actually extremely healthy, whaaaat)

    Wine, craft beer, and whiskey are my loves. I love wine tasting or trying out new breweries, and we have a ton around my city.

    Garment sewing and buying fabric! Cooking and gardening. Out of these four, I've only been able to cook because I have to eat so I can be alive and study. I can't wait for this thing to be over. I miss my free time.
