Amidst my procrastination, I thought it would be a good idea to look at some all-inclusives in the Caribbean for when tax season ends. Got my eye on the Dominican Republic and a nice relaxing getaway for a few days. Any recommendations? Anyone have a website that they would use for something like this? I’ve been browsing through bookit.com.

Playa del Carmen was great. We stayed at the Grand Riviera Princess, all inclusive, amazing. Take a cruise to the Caribbean even… done that before (parents have three times to different islands). Tripadvisor.com is what I use for everything, then I use expedia/travelocity/etc website for booking hotels.

I just took a 3 week trip to Europe back in September and loved it! My next places to go are either Iceland or South Africa. Hopefully I'll get to do one of them this year and one next year… also doing a yearly Europe trip in Sept (Oktoberfest in Munich is the best thing on earth :P) New Zealand/Aussie are amazing too.

I love traveling… it's my #1 passion. I can talk about it all day.

I brought my fiancé to a Puerto Rican island called Culebra last year for his bday. You fly to PR (which is relatively affordable if you pick the right time/dates) and then take a ferry or little puddle jumper plane to the island. It's……… different, in a cool way. Definitely NOT commercialized and I was so excited to be traveling to this place I had never heard of just a few months prior to the trip.

We rented bikes instead of of cars, rented a little villa in the hills instead of getting a hotel (there are very few commercial lodging options). The main pretty beach there is Flamenco Beach, which was crazy crowded when we went July 4th weekend but probably much more relaxing during a quieter time of the year.

I definitely want to go on a vacation after I finish the CPA exam as a celebration, and I've been looking for ideas. Did anyone who's passed do that?
