Wait for BEC score or move on?!

    Hello All,

Today I took BEC exam and I feel very, very, depressed because I have a preconceived notion that I failed. Why? Well, several (more than 4 per test let) questions I absolutely guessed on, and I feel I failed overall.

To make matters worse, score release will not be until Feb 7 per NASBA. Should I move on to REG or drown in this uncertainty?

    Thank you.

I just took the test and feel the same way. I suppose its over now and wasting a month to find out the score wont help much. I will move on to REG in hopes to pass before the March 10 deadline and pray for the best with BEC.

62 more days left in the window, so I would vote to move onto REG.

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

    Move on to Reg.

I took REG 12/10 and I literally thought I failed. There was one Sim were I had to enter a bunch of 0s because I had no flipping clue. I was terribly sad and depressed for 5 days. hahah I don't know how my boyfriend didn't tell me to shut up and get over it (he's very blunt). On Dec 16 I found out I passed with an 84, so those 6 days of being in a bad mood were for nothing. I did start studying for BEC ton Dec 11 but, I don't think I made a lot of progress considering I was moping around and crying for 5 days…

Now I know that you really don't know how the exam went until you get your score. There's no point in worrying about what is done.

Only guessed on 4 questions per testlet? I think I guessed on 10 per testlet on FAR and it was fine. I wouldn't worry about that. My approach is to always move on. By the time you get the score in you can be in the review period of the next test and have it taken soon after the score release. Keep on moving–if you fail then retake soon if possible.

Move to REG you may have a high chance of passing. BUT more important than that is the FACT you CANNOT take BEC this window. If you start now. You may be able test for REG before window is over. If you don't pass it then you can it in April or May. Don't waste your precious time waitin

I agree with everyone else. Definitely move on to REG. You'll only be wasting time if you wait for the score release.

    REG - 74, Retook 6/10/16, scored a 72 (Hate this exam)
    BEC - 69, 79, 8/1/15
    AUD - 83, 4/4/15
    FAR - 77, 2/27/16

    Two things:
    (1) If you never fail at anything, you aren't challenging/bettering yourself. Embrace failure; it provides an opportunity to learn and improve.
    (2) Worrying wastes a beautiful, albeit finite, life.

Therefore, if you pass, you win. And if you fail, you (indirectly) win.

In addition, no one ever asks what your scores were or how many times you took the exam. No one. Why? Because no one cares. Why? Because it doesn't matter. Why? Because scoring well provides no benefit to you, your friends, your family, or humankind. It's a number on a piece of paper.

    AUD: 98
    FAR: 95
    REG: July 11, 2016
    BEC: August 8, 2016

A co worker just told me she has passed every section of the exam twice but still does not have her CPA. WHY???? she could never pass all 4 in the 18 month window. That has to be one of the worst CPA stories ive herd. (JEFF's story is always #1) My point is KEEP taking the exams. My goal is to keep taking the same 2 sections per testing window until I pass all 4. The great thing is that all the sections are related. So something you learn in BEC can help u with REG so nothing is really a true waste of time…well unless you Give up. My co-worker after maybe 10 years finally decided to finish her CPA in 2017.

    DONT GIVE UP !

    FAR - 05/2015
    AUD - 75,11/2014
    REG - 07/2015
    BEC - 09/2015

    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

Definitely. You would be throwing away a month of study time. That would be insane. You couldn't retake BEC anyways until April, so I really don't even see the argument of not moving forward when you have another test you need to take. And if you only guessed on 4 per testlet, you probably did pretty good.
