Very Random: Living Situation (will generate a few laughs)

    Hey all,

I just felt the need to vent about this. So back in August, I moved into a 2 bedroom townhouse with a guy who had an ad on Craigslist. It should be noted that the guy was engaged at the time I responded to the ad and moved in. I needed to move to the area where the house was, but due the amount of traveling I do in my job, I figured it would be cost-effective to have a roommate. There was a girl who was set to be moving out (whose space I would be taking). Circumstances changed a bit and she needed to stay a bit longer, and I had no issue with that. I moved into the bedroom, and she just crashed on the futon downstairs. It is now April 15 (Happy Tax Day!), and she is still living here. Not only that, her and the guy roommate are now dating because his fiance left him back in December. I only found out that they were dating earlier this week by overhearing one of her conversations with our neighbors. You can’t make this stuff up guys…

I was able to put aside $800-$900 each month by living in this situation, but it has gotten too weird for me. Needless to say, I’ll be getting my own place, but I’ll only be able to put aside about $400 ($500 if I’m lucky) each month. I don’t think the extra money I’d save is worth me sticking around. The home doesn’t feel like a home to me.

    Any thoughts?

I like that they are taking this relationship slow. She has her own space (the couch) and your roommate has his own room.

P.S: Get out of that house.

I have some ideas but then the rating would go from Rated R to NC-17.

If you move out, you'll have to spend money on HBO to replace all the drama you're used to watching for free 😉

I suggest you invest in some nice soundproof earmuffs for the time being and hope their mating rituals do not leave the bedroom, or you might walk into a very awkward Discovery Channel special.

I would ask if they are open to an “Open Relationship.” ; )

Why should the two of them have all the fun.

Are you Janet or Chrissy? (or too young to even get the reference?)

Haha, everybody's responses have been fantastic! I failed to mention that they are now sleeping in the same room!

If I was back in my 20s I'd say this type of situation sounds ideal as long as they're not both really weird and look like the brother-sister roommate combo from Bridesmaids (Rebel Wilson and some other dude).

If $400 of savings is going to make the difference between happy and unhappy you might as well move out, if this is a temporary thing and you wanna move back home then I'd say suck it up for 10 months save 8-9 grand and move back home.
