ziebaParticipantMy younger brother is in that age group. The correct gift is cash or cash equivalent. He knows what he wants better than you do. He might have already purchased some of this stuff, as was the case with the PS4. Help him recoup it quicker. Cash or AMEX gift card which is non specific and can be used to pay for life's necessities while his earnings go to clearing the CC.
AUD - 75*, 88 done 5/14! (*exp)

Study MonkMemberMoney is so impersonal. Its not very fun to open either. Plus he will probably buy a bong if you give him money. Giving a 21 year old non college student money is the same as giving a homeless person with the shakes money.
I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:
"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

tough_kittyMemberMonk, I asked about his interests first š but we never received a reply….other than gaming…. and I agree with you about cash. Gosh, your girlfriend is one lucky girl! Sorry, couldn't help myself š
A great compromise would be a small gift + a prepaid credit card.
It's definitely easier to shop for a girl! My mom always gave me golden jewelry for my birthday and for my 21st birthday she gave me a ring with a small diamond. My first one! š

KenadaMemberYa money is kind of impersonal but depends – maybe its money to go towards his savings to be able to rent his own place or buy a car ?
I know when I was 21 – I would have been happy if I have a surprise party with all my friends there to celebrate.
FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

005ParticipantHow much are you looking to spend? Is he a sports fan? Perhaps some quality Celtics tickets?… although they're having a crummy season.
Money is always a safe bet at that age… going out with friends isn't cheap… and more so now that he's 21 and drinks are involved.

tough_kittyMemberThe 21st birthday gift should be special. Maybe a nice watch? I know it's a rare thing nowadays but I got mine back in 1998 and I still have it! Not because I can't afford a new one but because I love it and it still looks and works great! š

mla1169ParticipantHis interests are online gaming. I asked what games he'd like for the PS4 but he said he already has the games he wants. I'm so uncool but are there accessories like super headphones, controllers or stuff that gamers like?
