Hello,

Does anybody know why VBOA has started charging $20.00 for re-applying for the same exam? They never charged before.

I was told it was a new processing fee recently implemented. If I remember correctly, it's per payment coupon, so if you request multiple sections, they will only charge you $20. Same fee as if you request only one section.

Not sure why they made the change, but most BOA's have a similar fee, so it's not abnormal for a state to charge something like that. If you think about it, they have someone whose salary they have to pay who spends time looking through the paperwork for it, so they have a cost for processing and keeping the records for the re-applications. They have to pass it on somehow.

I agree with Lilla.

I asked a couple of my out of state friends and it really depends on the state you are in. I'm in VA, and they've never had this before, so it's definitely new for VA, but not uncommon in other states.
