I am writing this if you guys agree or disagree. I really feel that the CPA license is overvalued compared to other license. Everybody says that the cpa is exam is very hard and well respected but why are we paid like crap when we compare our profession to other profession like engineering, computer science, and even health care like physical theraptist or nursing or even pharmiscts. Lets be honest even some people in sales make more than us. People that starting out or even have some experiences are still being paid less compare to those other profession. My 2 cents is this profession needs to step up in pay or else no one care what firm you work for when your friends in other profession are making more than you. The worst case scenerio would be people leaving this profession in drove.( I see it first hand people leaving this profession) It bad enough when you have crazy hours and the license does not increase your pay. Thus, stop promoting the license and start increasing the salary like those other profession! Please share your comments.
