I came home from the TFH (test from hell) and saw how much damage this hurricane has done.

I wasn’t up on the news and thought it was just going to be a blow through storm that didn’t do much damage, I was wrong. So what was an attempt at humor turned out to look meanspiritied.

So proper apologies for an ill placed and ill timed joke. I hope you guys are all okay, of course.

We survived another one with nothing more than some more firewood in the yard. I have a friend in Houma that wasn't so lucky but they are safe. The house can be replaced and they can buy a new car but they can't be replaced. I asked her why they stayed and she said they didn't have the money to evacuate. After the oil spill things got really bad for them. She said that most of the people she knew that made the decision to stay did so because they couldn't afford to leave. If y'all think I was rough on here yesterday, you wouldn't have wanted to hear what I told her! I told her that wasn't a viable excuse because it's only money, I'll make more. I would have sent her the money or gone and gotten them myself. I think she got the message.

I have a special name for REG but I can't put those words on here. I hope you did well.

We ended up barely getting any rain and some 30-40 mile winds last night, more rain today but not much to complain about. Some family of mine in LaPlace are doing much worse. Her house was fine but many of her staff had their homes flooded today when the waters started rising.

You don't realize just how destructive water can be until there is 5 feet of it in your house! Sad, Sad, Sad. LaPlace got hit hard didn't they? It just sat on top of them for what felt like hours!

I'm glad you guys are okay, I truly thought this was going to be a glorified thunderstorm. I didn't realize that it was as bad as it was or I would have never posted it. It was supposed to be mere sarcasm and trash talking with the SEC starting soon. I'd never ever wish that on someone seriously. I'm not that big of a jerk, but I do a mean impersonation of one from time to time.

Sorry about your friend. I think I'd have a hard time leaving also.

Reg sucks eggs. Hate it…hate it….hate it…hate it. The good news (sarcasm again) is that I will likely get another chance to face it! 😀

My grandmother has no power and it's HOT for an 83 year old woman (she's in Waveland MS, lost her house in Katrina) but she says it's not as bad as they thought it might be.
