Timing of Initial Licensure

I’m hoping someone has experienced this before… I’m hoping to pass my last section in August, however I need 22 more credit hours to meet the 150 requirement. I plan to take these hours at the local community college. If I don’t apply for the license in the same calendar year as I pass the exam, I have to obtain additional CPE hours before I can be licensed. I really don’t want to have to do this b/c I’m paying for everything out of pocket. If I take all 22 credit hours in the fall, I’ll have enough credits by December 20th. But, I’m worried that I won’t be able to obtain a transcript that quickly and will get bumped into the next calendar year. I don’t want to take 22 credit hours in one semester if my plan won’t work anyways. My only other option would be to wait and pass REG in 2013 so it would be in the same calendar year, but I don’t want to do that b/c I might take a chance of FAR expiring if I don’t pass by the 2nd window. Has anyone else experienced this situation? Do you know if I apply for licensure at the end of December and they don’t receive my transcript until 2013 if it will still count for 2012?
