So I prospecting to take FAR as my first exam the first week of April and I am using Gleim. I still have to complete Governmental & Not for Profit online through LSU ODL.This is my plan so please provide as much input as you feel as possible. Thank you in advance and I just wanted to also say this community is amazing. I’ve been coming here for the last 6 months and now check this forum more than Facebook. Great insight, knowledge and encouragement is shared here and it makes me happy to finally join the journey with you all.

Dec 20th – Jan 28th: Complete LSU ODL Governmental course and study the three modules on Gleim for Governmental

Feb 1st – Mar 20th: Study and complete the remaining 17 modules and chapters of Gleim.

I am estimating 4-6hrs a day 4x a week while completing a minimum of two modules a week. Also 4 hours of review for topics covered that week on the weekend (MCQ, Re-write notes, JE’s, more MCQs).

Mar 21st – April 1st: Touch up on weak areas, MCQs and final review.

    April 2nd> Take FAR

Am I doing it right? What do you all think? Again, any insight would be greatly appreciated!

This will bring my total study hours to around 160-180. Is that enough or too much? Especially over the span of time.

So you're looking at just over two months of studying? I'd say that's about right. Expect to devote the most time to studying for FAR. It involves a lot of rules but also a lot of straightforward calculations.

I too started studying for FAR while finishing school. The extra time I spent studying for FAR made me comfortable with the topics on exam day.

Btw I don't think you need to study 4-6 hours a day. Do whatever you need to do to complete all of the modules, but 4-6hrs a day is probably not doable. You're increasing the chance that you'll burn out

    FAR - 94
    BEC - 95
    REG - 92
    AUD - 97

Just remember to stay fresh on what you study in dec-jan, you'll be surprised at how little you retain from 2 months earlier when your absorbing tons of new information.

Sounds really similar to what I did. I tried to study 5-6 hours a day for 6 days a week with 1 day off per week whenever I got sick of studying and needed a break. Becker has 10 chapters, and I tried to get through 2 per week with a week and a half at the end for review. Six and a half weeks total. I think I clocked in around 160-170 hours by the time I took the exam.

    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

    Sounds good.

I made sure to study a little everyday (7 days/week) rather than just 4 times a week.
Also, I focused on learning the modules first, then gave myself 4 wks to review at the end, rather than review in between.

But whatever works for you. Allow yourself to modify the plan as you go through it. It is important to both feel comfortable with passing it, but also to enjoy the learning process, because you will be at this 3 more times (tests) afterwards, so you don't want to burn-out.

Also, the more you study, the earlier you study, the faster you will finish, and the higher your scores and self-confidence. So whatever spare time you have now, put it into studying. Don't put off study because your schedule does not yet call for it.
