I bought myself a new car. I am now the proud owner of a 2014 Mini Cooper convertible … (and 30K in debt).

Yes, I know…not the most CPA thing to do, but I really wanted it and after almost 7 years straight of working full time during the day and studies at night (BA, MAC, CPA), I decided I could reward myself.

I probably should have bought a new suit, but oh my goodness – she’s so cute sitting there in my driveway!

Anyone else reward themselves or have plans for a reward?

I bought a gun, Taurus .380 and an Alienware Laptop. For what paid for the laptop, I needed the gun to protect it!

I haven't properly treated myself yet, but on my list are: a car, a vacation, new apartment, and maybe a new job.

I love this thread!!! Congrats to everyone and enjoy those hard earned rewards!!!!!

In a VERY un-CPA like move, I decided that my reward to myself by leasing (eeeek, gasp, horrors, I know) a fully loaded and shiny new red Lincoln MKZ for 24 months. I've always purchased vehicles and drove them until they fell apart, so to not have to worry about tires, brakes, maintenance, etc. is the best. I don't have any student loans or credit card debt or kids, so I didn't feel guilty about it in the least about not buying it outright.

I'll probably be able to pull ahead 4-6 months also, so the thought of getting a sick new car every 18-24 months makes me tickled pink! I'd love to have a BMW or Audi and I know if I'm paying the bill then it's none of anyone's business…BUT reality is that I do live in southeast Michigan and have family and friends who are engineers at Ford/GM/Chrysler. I'd never hear the end of it if I leased/purchased outside of the Big 3. On the same note of made in Michigan, I also received as a gift a gorgeous rose gold Shinola watch from my mother! 🙂

lol, Kricket, are you serious about buying a gun? I think I've seen too many movies, but I just picture you sitting in a rocking chair, gun in hand, waiting for a thief to show up.

Mints, I have no idea what a lincoln mkz is but it sounds awesome, and it's well deserved. We shouldn't feel guilty for using our hard earned money to buy nice things that make us happy.

Im young and poor haha, so my money is staying in the bank account until I can buy a house. Getting a house in socal without a donation from family is pretty hard these days :(.

I did spontaneously get a facial today, it's been like 15 months or so since my last one. It was the most painful facial I've ever had, my face was ridden with whiteheads, and the esthetician just scraped them away. She also convinced me I needed $150 worth of skin products! Darn she's good!
