Am I the only one that now avoids fellow CPA exam candidates studying at the same library as you?
I study at a university library outside Washington D.C. and it seems to be a very POPULAR choice for cpa candidates in the area.
Theres something about seeing a CPA study material on my table that makes me an open target for all candidates to come by and try to have a half hour conversation. Now….i’m not antisocial and don’t mind discussing the exam…which is why i am on this forum….BUT when you see me with noise cancelling headphones intensely watching a lecture to the point you have to poke me to get my attention….that is when you draw the line.
After about the 7th person stopping me this month my response to “your studying for the cpa exam” is now “im trying to…..with an akward pause after”. I started off friendlier…but one girl would come by every time she saw me there and i would lose an hour of study time. I cut that off real quick.
Now that I am done venting I feel better :).
Lesson of my post – wait until you see fellow exam candidates are at a good stopping point before making your introduction.
