Is anyone else excited to see this movie? Like, REALLY excited?!

Also, is anyone else miffed that the movie comes out on October 14th? I get Hollywood release schedules and all, but come on. It’s a movie. About an accountant. That comes out right before the last big tax deadline of the year.

Someone should have hired better advisors…. 😉

So has anyone else seen this yet? I went last night and thought it was really good. I was expecting lots of action and almost no accounting but there's actually quite a bit of time devoted to the accounting part of the plot. Definitely recommend as a study break! And it even motivated me to get to the library this morning!

Saw it on Thursday. Much better than I expected it to be lol

I agree with allison213, there's some accounting humor in there that only accountants will get.

I really liked it. It was really funny at times. Action was great, and the story was ridiculous but I didn't care it was awesome to watch an Accountant be a badass!

I liked it when he took people out! Not enough accounting though, and only accountants got some of the jokes at the beginning.

Not too fond of it. Hollywood once again playing on stereotypes. A socially inept nerdy guy who is precise, meticulous and intelligent. Not all accountants are like that but I guess Affleck being a badass makes up for it. Affleck is for gun-control and he is making profit off of a movie with guns. The irony.

It's a feel-good movie about the importance of family and how a differently-abled person overcomes challenges to succeed in life. Chris Wolff is an inspiration to us all.

i saw the movie today in a theater with new cushy recliners. i was both comfortable and entertained. my guilty pleasure of red twizzlers helped add to my enjoyment of a fun film.

the conversations were hard to hear but the gunshots were spot on.

It was okay. I wish they would've done the plot differently. The investigative part of tracking down Ben Affleck was good, but his story line kind of sucked. It was also a feel good story for people with autism and similar conditions. They should've built up some more drama between his character and his character's brother. Plus, when he just murdered a bunch of people saving that girl, she just decided to hide out in a hotel room with him? Maybe if he had saved the FBI agent and the two of them went on some heroic spree defeating, perhaps, some crime syndicate, that would've worked better for me.

I saw it with the husband – also an accountant ! It was very good but extremely violent and disturbing with some typical stereotypes which are inaccurate . Still a great movie though .

I agree about the inaccurate stereotypes. In the real world, the home office deduction doesn't make that big of a difference, especially if they own and already deduct interest and taxes.

Did anybody else wonder if Justine, or rather her computer, was the English woman on the phone?

@4WG2WB – I almost missed it at the end, but yes they were the same character! I thought that was pretty cool.

Other than that though, I have to say I was hoping for more. Not that it was bad, but I wish they had developed Affleck's character more, and that there was more accounting spread throughout as opposed to him figuring out the issue 30 minutes in then everybody starts killing everybody. I should've known better than to expect Hollywood to actually develop an accountant as a character, though 🙂
