    Hello,

I recently took an exam, and at the end of the exam I had a couple of questions I wanted to remember to look up and see if I guessed right during the exam, so I wrote “General Partnerships” and “Penalties” on my hand during the survey portion of the exam, which is a no-no that I did not know. The testing center, came up to me and said I needed to come outside, to see what I wrote on my hand, which I did. They took pictures of my hand to send off, and I asked if I was going to be reprimanded, but they replied with “we do not know.” I’m worrying myself with am I in trouble or does it matter, and I’d just like to know whats going to happen instead of waiting. Any clarification would be appreciated to help ease my mind either way.

Idk why you would do that lol that's definitely a rookie mistake. You'll probably be alright you might just have to explain the situation to someone. You have to look at it at their perspective though they might of thought that you were handing off some information to another candidate.

I'm sorry to tell you but they may actually disqualify your test. You are not able take notes in or take any out of the exam. You will however be able to test again. Let's just hope that they allow you to explain yourself but just know that they most you can lose is a test that had a high chance that you would fail. So learn from this experience and do not do it again.

Nobody here can really tell you what's going to happen. You did violate their rules (you know that obviously now) and they can invalidate this score and prevent you from taking future CPA exams. My guess, being a fairly reasonable person, is that at the most this score would be invalidated. I'm curious whether your status on CPA Central says anything other than “attendance” at this point. You didn't ask, but I don't think I would contact NASBA, because I would assume no news is good news and I wouldn't want to bring attention to the issue. It probably makes no difference, but that's just me. Will you please let us know how this turns out?

Best of luck and I hope it turns out OK for you.

I agree with the above. I will continue on with the next test on your list until you hear otherwise. No reason to look back until they tell you otherwise.

That sucks so bad!!!! I do think the worst that will happen is you'll have to retake this test. Best of luck.

Another rule you should know is that you can't share on this page any reference to content of the exam like what specifically you wrote on your hand.

I was going to mention not disclosing any details of your exam here either. There are things that are easily understood to be against test rules (e.g., coming on Another71 telling your fellow Ninjas exact questions you had on your test), but then there are things that might be a little more vague. For example, on FAR, it's likely that you would see at least one question on bonds, so is mentioning that you saw a bond question very wrong? Not terrible imo; however, the rules state not to disclose the nature of any test question. As far as this test and The Very Big Deal I've made it in my life, I prefer to play it safe and not mention anything regarding topics tested, etc. This is especially important since Jeff has mentioned before that this site does get monitored.
