Terrible experience with Becker!!!

    Okay, am I the only one that has had an absolutely horrible experience with Becker? I’m literally at my wits end with that company. Let me break down my experience for you:

    1. Went with Becker because it has the highest pass rates, everyone says it’s the best, etc. Ordered online, no issues (yet).

    2. Chose to do the online self study with delayed shipment of textbooks. Got my first order in for FAR, everything was fine.

    3. Started studying for FAR, realized the lectures were pretty boring (but were semi helpful), mcq’s took hours on end to finish (with explanations that usually didn’t even make sense), and questions that made me feel like I should probably go back to middle school because I was so dumb.

    4. During review week for FAR, found this site, abandoned Becker mcq and did NINJA mcq exclusively for review (SO MUCH BETTER).

    5. Passed FAR with an 87 (credit goes to you NINJA) so decided to release the REG book for shipment so I could start studying for that. Also was relocating to a city four hours away during this time period (this comes into play later on).

    6. Long story short, took A MONTH to receive my REG book. The original order I placed through their “convenient” online portal was never captured (despite the system saying yes your book is on its way!), had to call customer service multiple times to ask what was going on (and of course no one ever knew), and they had to send multiple books just in hopes that one would arrive. Eventually, I received one at my new address (after sending multiples to both addresses). At this point, pretty frustrated, but whatever at least I could study. Decided at this point to just use Becker lecture/book and use NINJA mcq exclusively.

    7. Through some crazy idea of mine, decided to change my study plan so that I could take three tests in the next window and be done sooner than planned. Just last week I had Becker release the last two books so I could stay on track. Learning from prior experience, I called the next day to make sure it was shipped. Surprise, surprise the system never got the order and the customer service rep had to release them for me. Look at the tracking info today and I see to my surprise, the books are sitting waiting to be delivered to my old address. You’ve got to be kidding me.

    8. Call customer service AGAIN, and guy confirms they are being shipped to the old address. He releases new books to be shipped to my new address. Cross your fingers, maybe eventually I’ll get them. Hopefully not before my FAR credit expires in 2017. I’m not holding my breath though.

    Through this whole thing, I just keep asking myself, how are people willingly paying $3000+ for this course and it is still continuing to be “the best”?!?! Even aside from all the shipment issues (which I’m sorry but if I’m paying that much for course materials, it really should not take a MONTH to send a book), the material is so difficult to understand! The questions they have in their test bank are just insane and their explanations don’t even make sense. I really don’t think I would have passed FAR had it not been for me finding NINJA. Now that I’m in the middle of this whole process I really wish I would have done some more research before picking Becker. Maybe it would have saved me some headache during an already insanely stressful process.
