Tampa PWC SDC job

Is anyone familiar with the PWC SDCs? I have been offered an entry level tax position in the Tampa SDC, but am wondering how these positions are viewed by the PWC practice offices and outside firms? Here is a excerpt of the job description: “to perform routine tax activities that are high volume, low risk and non-client facing.” The description worries me that the experience I gain will not be applicable to future opportunities.

Thank you for any insights offered.

You should take the job and then once you get there you get switch to a more client facing position if you want to be in a client facing position. Having PWC on your resume will mean so much more.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

I used to work at PWC in assurance and I will say that SDC is SO important. A lot of the tasks that first years used to do are now being send to SDC. It's basically comprised of tasks that aren't subjective like 10 K internal consistency & prior year tie outs and confirmations in order to save the teams some time. I assume the duties you will have will be similar but for tax. You'll definitely get a lot of experience in that position.

I would agree with ruggercpa2b about the prestige of PWC on your resume. I worked briefly for EY in there shared service center and it seem to help get me interviews. So if they want you and feel like you can do the work, take the job.
