You can hit those multiple choices over and over again until you get sick, but ultimately working the SIMS themselves will decide whether you actually know the materials and know how to perform the calculations or know the journal entries. I’m currently working FAR right now and due the amount materials for FAR, the mcq’s provided the foundation to understanding the materials. Working each sim one by one however, showed me what my weaknesses were whether they were Journal Entries, knowing how to perform the calculations, or comprehending the materials.

Note – I have done this for REG and AUD, especially the last 2-3 weeks before the exams, and they have helped tremendously. I am using Gleim and mostly been studying the SIMS 2-3 weeks before the exams. Hopefully, FAR will be the last section this July.

^ I wish I could tell you if you are ready or not, but I can't. I go through all the SIMs the last few weeks before the exam just to make sure I know he materials and brush upon weak areas. But you have 3 weeks, so make the most of it. Since you are doing a Retake of FAR brush upon all your weak areas.

    I echo Skynet 10 times….echo…echo…echo…

    My experience:

AUD – Two SIMs -> word for word.

REG – I failed REG 4 times, and I think I finally passed on July 11th, by a decent enough gap. I think my SIMs were almost 100% correct.

I can't say this enough, get GLEIM on-line SIMs. It's like you are taking the real exam, every time you do a Gleim SIM. And listen to Skynet, he's a cool dude…

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...

@lastchance are the Gleim sims really that good? How many sims are included? I have ninja 10pt combo for audit and cpaexel and I like cpaexel for sims over ninja.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

If you get the full exam part, you'll get 20 sims, on for each unit. You'll also get the “Sim Wizard” which is another 20 sims. You can get the Sim Wizard seperately.

I have seen so many mixed reviews on studying the SIMS. I haven't done any but I hope that I can review the SIMS over these last few days and be okay…

    Using Becker self-study
    FAR: (82) 175 hours - 1st attempt
    BEC: (XX)
    AUD: (69) 45hrs of study - 1st attempt
    REG: (XX)

@Claudia408 – What Skynet said. I got the test bank first, which comes with the book. The Gleim book has 20 SIMs. Gleim SIM wizard has 20 SIMs….so 40. The 20 on-line SIMs are sufficient. And you will actually only study about 11-13 of them because you only need to study TAX SIMs. I used CPAExcel, WTB, and Ninja, and nothing compares to Gleim for SIMs.

I have failed REG 4x. This is the only piece of advice I can give, get the Gleim SIMs. I didn't like their MCQs though…too hard!

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...
