I have been a licensed CPA since February 2017. Apparently I have been in the state society since then, I am in TN so the TSCPA. Yesterday I got a bill from them to renew my membership with them (over $300).
I want to just let this lapse because in the last year I have received no benefit at all from them and actually didn’t know I was a member. I also work in private with no plans to be in public if that makes a difference for anything. I still would not have gone to their meetings and this is not something that I particularly care about being active in.
What are the pros to being in an organization like this? And how difficult would it be to rejoin in the future if I needed or wanted to for some reason? And just anything I am not thinking of.
Thanks
