State Board Frustrations

I just retook BEC yesterday after a miserable 70 on my first attempt. For whatever reason, I decided to peruse the state’s online system. I was looking at my score history and noticed something odd. My failing BEC score had an expiration date and no section ID next to it. However, it of course said 70 and F. To me this was like some dark, sick joke. I have major anxiety issues (totally seeing a therapist about it) so this did not help matters very much. I took a screen shot of what I saw and sent it to the help desk because it’s wrong and also because I am paranoid of my state board.

When I first applied to have my credentials reviewed, the state mixed up my application with someone else’s which delayed the initial process to qualify to sit for the exam. The help desk has forwarded my issue to their IT department and I hope that if this is happening elsewhere, it gets caught and is corrected. I felt like seeing that on the screen was a huge tease as a passing score would mean I would be halfway through this journey. It makes me weary of the state board after these two blunders. I am sure this is some system glitch but I definitely did not feel good when I saw that.

Has this ever happened to anyone else??? Did you feel the same???

Not sure I follow the problem with the state board's site. Aren't they simply showing the old score to provide a complete history of all exams you've taken? I would bet that you are probably not alone. With the high volume of applications processed, there's bound to be some issues from time to time. Sometimes it's easier to give them a call and resolve issues over the phone, since they might not always be as responsive to emails.

You got a 70, it shows 70 and F. Not following how that is wrong? Anything under 75 is an F. 75 and over is Passing.

If you just retook BEC nothing would be updated at the state level because they have no update until score release.

I know it aches to see it in black and white, but you're the only one who can see it. So don't torment yourself by looking.
