Does anyone have experience starting a NY LLC? I’m starting one (actually a PLLC) and NY has an outdated policy where a new LLC has to publish in three publications for six weeks. This cost can go as high as $1500 in NYC where I am. It all depends on what the county clerk has available as certain publications are higher than others.

There are companies that I can pay to do it and they advertise around $1200-$1500. Does anyone have experience doing this on their own or paying for the service? I’m concerned about hidden fees for the service because it doesn’t seem like there is much profit if that price is correct.

I’ve looked at other options and this is the best way pay the least amount of taxes possible. S Corp in NY isn’t allowed for professional services and even if I could they are taxed as corporations in NY.
