Wow by the end of chapter 1 I already feel so overwhelmed. It seems like I need to know 3 formulas per question, does it get easier?

Not really sure what I am even asking, may be more venting/ frustration/ anxiety waiting for my FAR score.

    Man these tests….

    REG - 79 - 8/9/15
    FAR - 79 - 11/25/15
    BEC - 80 - 1/4/16
    AUD - 80 - 2/13/16

Oh just wait for chapter 3 formulas. i compiled a hand written formula sheet for bec, and by the end, I had a little more than 100 formulas…

    AUD: 98
    REG: 91
    BEC: 86
    FAR: 83

DONE DONE DONE and DONE all on the first try! It IS possible, just keep on studying!

You don't need 100 formulas…why waste your time?

Hey all, I took BEC last week and wanted to share a couple of tips. First, if you are using Becker, the questions on the exam are a billion times easier. I wasted so much time trying to figure out how to answer the most complicated questions when I could have spent time studying some other topic.

I studied the lectures and took a 2 month break and forget a lot of what I studied. Then I had 2 weeks left to take the test. I ended up buying the Ninja multiple choice to give me variety in the questions I did and that is one of the BESTTTTT purchases I ever made. In hindsight, I could have just bought the Ninja multiple choice and not even did any lectures studying or readings. The questions came with supplemental info to teach out about the topics and show how to get the correct answer.

Also, the questions on NINJA were almost exactly the same as on the exam. I mean it felt like taking a practice test at home except the whole frisking part before starting the exam.

I studied for the SIMs the morning of the exam. All I did was look at the Becker's explanation of how to put together a memo and I read one example. But other than that I spent no time on the SIMs because its all about writing style and how to format a memo or e-mail. If you already know english well and have written memos in your business writing class in college then there is no other studying you can do to help you prep better in my opinion.

But seriously, buy the NINJA multiple choice. If you can do all the problems AND you understand the answer to each problem then you WILL pass the test. It's a sure thing.

I took FAR and passed with a 77 with Becker and I thought I failed. I took REG with Becker and I cried for days because of how hard that test was and I thought I failed that too and I ended up with a 75. BEC I have not gotten the grade back (it feels like I lost 10 years off my life waiting for the grade), but coming out of the test I knew that I did extremely well (not trying to jinx myself and say that I passed for sure).

Moral of the story, get the NINJA multiple choice.

    FAR - 77
    REG - 75
    BEC - 84
    AUD - Jan-16

I had a very formula intensive exam but I know other's have different experiences. I tried to memorize as many formulas as I could and I wrote them out on flashcards. During the exam, even if I didn't remember 100% of the formula (ex. 2 step formulas) I was able to eliminate at least 2 options right off the bat. Then I just made an educated guess! I know that isn't the most helpful advice but there really are A LOT of formulas. I tried to memorize as much as I could. But yes I agree with the above poster…some of the Becker questions were ridiculous and I didn't experience more than like 5 of those questions. As long as you understand the steps you have to take to get from A to D you will be fine. The exam can ask you to solve for any one of those steps but highly unlikely for all the steps.

if you do end up memorizing formulas (i did not- the only thing i memorized for that exam was the cost accounting variances) you can do it in the car 30 mins before the exam time. and then while its fresh copy it down on your laminated piece of paper in the 10mins before the test on those welcome screens. you have a timer going so make sure to click through the 3 intro screens when the times hits 2mins dont want to risk it and get timed out of the exam/forfeit fees, etc.
