This isn’t for a specific exam, but I was wondering what other users’ opinions were on the grading of SIMS. I know that nobody knows exactly, but I just wanted thoughts.

So, for example, if I had a SIM that gave me about 10 individual scenarios and I had to choose two options for each scenario giving me a total of 20 answers to choose from, would this be more weighted than a SIM that is say, fill in the blank for a basic and diluted EPS. The second example would only have 2 fill in the blanks while the first had 20 answers to select.

Does anyone feel the SIMS are equal points or would example 1 from above give you much more points than example 2 (if you got both correct)?

    Thanks

I think the sims are graded by every box in the simulation meaning you can get the amount of the journal entry wrong but if you at least get the accounts right you will receive partial credit. That is what I like to believe. IDK if it is true though.

I know individual items each had points for partial credit, but are all 6 graded SIMS equal points to one another?

It's obviously not based on %, but let's say you had 100/6 = 16.66 points per SIM. Would a complex SIM be worth just as much as a research SIM, both valued at 16.66?

Again, those numbers are just examples, I know it's not based on %

I don't know if you'd be able to find it on a search, but a while back someone posted here that they asked about that, and people attempted to translate the answer that they posted. Basically, while we think of them as 6 or 7 different sims, for grading they score them like a bunch of unrelated answer boxes, each of equal value.
