Should I take AUD or BEC next?

I just found out I scored a 75 on FAR when I thought I bombed the exam (left two sims blank). I haven’t begun studying for my next section because I thought I failed FAR. I thought I should go for AUD next, but with the exam changes beginning in April, I have been thinking about studying for BEC since I won’t see any simulations in the first quarter of 2017. Then again if for whatever reason I don’t pass BEC on the first try, I won’t have any practice with simulations when Q2 comes around.

Looking at what AUD and BEC consist of online, it appears that the content of BEC is alot more foreign to me than Audit.

In my head it seems like I should study AUD first, but I just don’t want to pass up the opportunity to take a section that doesn’t have any simulations right now. Either way, I would appreciate any advice. I’m kind of stuck right now.

Why not try to finish both? Start with BEC, take it middle-end of January, then go for AUD and take 6ish weeks for that.

If you don't feel that is enough time, study BEC and try to pass it before the changes! AUD won't change much compared to BEC, so I would do that first.

    REG: 80 (02/19/16)
    AUD: 83 (04/11/16)
    BEC: 78 (05/28/16)
    FAR: ?

@Ginja_CPA I honestly don't think i'll be able to do both, especially since BEC is totally foreign to me. As much as I really don't want to, I can see why studying for BEC first might be the smarter decision since there won't be any simulations. I'll just have to make sure that I pass on the first try.

Then I would definitely recommend BEC as it will be changed the most. A word of advice for BEC, don't underestimate it even though it is considered “the easiest” exam. If you don't study hard for it, it can surprise you with how difficult it is.

    Good luck!

    REG: 80 (02/19/16)
    AUD: 83 (04/11/16)
    BEC: 78 (05/28/16)
    FAR: ?

@Ginja_CPA I know what you mean but I wouldn't take BEC lightly just because of how much I don't know (Pretty much everything will be new to me). And I've seen my fair share of scores on this forum of people who passed FAR, AUD, or REG on their first time and then seriously struggle with BEC.

I've been point on our annual audits for over a decade, and even then I found AUD a horrible ogre of an exam.
BEC material was more familiar for me, so I almost enjoyed studying for it.

I would have said, “Definitely BEC” – but I see you view it as very foreign.
Unless you like or feel familiar AUD, I'd still recommend BEC and that you do as many MCQ as you can forcefeed yourself.

I would dive into BEC right now, it's getting longer in April and will have Sims. The idea of having a cost accounting or finance sim is scary to me.

    MS, Accounting - Done!

    FAR - 83 (CPAexcel/Ninja MCQ)
    AUD - 87 (CPAexcel/Ninja MCQ)
    REG - 10/16
    BEC - 11/16

This post gave me a little hope. I didn't get to 3 SIMS. I am waiting on my FAR score and I just have to wait and see if I did enough on the MC to pass. I am also thinking of which exam to take next if I pass FAR. I am leaning towards AUD just because I don't want to be in a rush to pass BEC. Like you said if I don't pass it on the first try there will be a whole new exam that I won't have experience with. This is just stressful!

I would sit for BEC next as there are a lot of similar concepts and overlap from FAR.

You just gave me a huge soul relief knowing that you passed FAR leaving two sims blank.
I’m desperately waiting for this Dec 16 score release. Looking forward to get good news of passing FAR so i can take BEC in the first quarter of 2017 before the new exam changes.

    AUD - 71, 73, 87
    BEC - N/A
    FAR - 54, 73
    REG - N/A

    NINJA MCQ ROCKS!!!!
