so I rarely do Partnership return and I recently got assigned to one. The person that is reviewing my work is someone that started with me. From time to time it makes me feel incompetent because I keep asking, why is that someone with the same year of experiences reviewing my work? But then I tell myself I rarely do these type of return so it’s a learning experience and given that individual do most partnership he may be qualified. As I mainly do NFP it would have been the same if the situation was flipped… it prob sounds like I’m jealous, perhaps? lol. But how do you guys deal with this feeling??

It feels weird to have someone that started at the same time but is being your superior..

Don't feel too self conscious. I started with a person (younger than me) and they received their CPA license before me (actually, I'm still waiting on 2 scores tomorrow), this person seems to be accelerating through promotions faster than me and sometimes it makes me feel like crap. However, I will repeat this cliche which always makes me feel better: don't gauge your personal progress by benchmarking others' progress, gauge it by acknowledging your own milestones. That's what's important. Haha..sorry for the mush.

^ that actually made me feel better. Haha thanks guys! Its true, no one can specialize in everything and I rather focus on the type of clients I enjoy but at the same time have a bit of diversity in other areas. Ill try not to think too much about it from now. Appreciate it.
