Score Report?

    Hi,

I recently took FAR on 11/25 and failed with a dreaded 73. I was reading on some threads that the AICPA issues a candidate performance report that shows how you performed in various categories. Does every state issue these reports or only certain jurisdictions? And would restudying for a month be sufficient time to take the exam by the second week in January?

Hi DoubleB – Yes, every state is different. I'm in Pennsylvania and they do issue the report. Has far has the timeframe to retake the exam I would say that one month it's enough if you are fully dedicated. Keep up the hard work and you'll get it next time!

I think every state issues if you fail, but only some if you pass.

I dont think the score reports are even worth looking at.. I just failed AUD with a 61 and it said that I was stronger or comparable on all of the sections but 1… comparable on SIMS and Stronger on MQ… which doesn't make sense considering I was not even close to passing

    REG - 73, 69 ugh
    AUD - 11/21/2015
    BEC - Jan 2015
    FAR - April 2015

Every state is different. Michigan issues it only if you FAIL. But take it with a grain of salt! You need to study for 75 more points not for 2 more points.

I received mine today and I was weaker only on Specific Transactions/Events and Simulations stronger on Governmental ,Not-for-Profit and MCQs
Simulations really drag me down and they are the reason I got 73.:(

    FAR: 73, 85
    BEC: 79
    REG: TBA
    AUD: TBA

@Medo_Omar. For simulations you need to have a very good understanding of Adj J/E. You get at least 1-2 questions on it. So don't miss any J/E in your text. Even if it's not highlighted as an important stuff, you still go over. And don't forget to cover smaller topic. They usually make a Sim out of those topics. And of course CFS. you get one two on it.

I am finishing my last accounting course for CPA requirement. I have been on this forum for about 2-3 weeks now and been reading all suggestions. I am trying to figure out which order should I take the exams in (I know there is no set order) but how do I tame this CPA lion? Which study guide is good? How much time should I spent studying before attempting exam? Any suggestions will be appreciated!!

    FAR - August 2016
    AUD - September 2016
    REG - October 2016
    BEC - November 2016

@Kanwal78: I would say FAR first. It is the longest and the hardest. I would give yourself at least 200 hours of study time before attacking it on your first attempt. If you pass FAR, I believe the rest are not as bad.

@Double B11: I say you hit the books hard for the next month. You only need 2 more dreaded points. I would continue to hit the MC over and over. As for the questions you get wrong, write down why you got them wrong. I have gone through about 20 legal pads throughout my exam journey. Good luck!

    FAR - 84
    REG - 86
    AUD - 90
    BEC - 88

Thank you, I found my score report in my junk email and it said that I was comparable in all the sections and weaker in the sims. Also, has anyone bought extra practice exams from review sources other than Becker? If so, which ones are the most similar to the actual FAR exam. Becker practice exam sims do not portray what the real exam is like.

I'll admit I haven't bought it but I have only seen positive reviews about the ninja MC. It's adaptive to be very similar to the actual exam.

    FAR - 84
    REG - 86
    AUD - 90
    BEC - 88

Thanks CPA Slayer for the feedback!! I was actually thinking of taking FAR first and get it out of the way if I can pass. I just want to relax until holidays and then decide when to attack the first attempt.

Kanwal78, I just want to give you a heads up. I took FAR first, and it was a great relief to have it over with, but don't assume the others are much easier.
With that in mind, my recommendation for ordering the exams is FAR, AUD/BEC in any order, and then REG.
