score below 50 will cancel your previous credited/passed exams?

    Hi Guys,

    I heard this somewhere that if any of your exam score below 50 will affect to cancel your previous credited exams? I have passed two sections. I am going to take my third one next the coming monday which i am very sure i will do really bad. My NTS is expiring so i cant reschedule

    You must be speaking to old timers. When my dad took the exam in 1984, it was you pass 2 and get 50 or above on the other 2, you didn't have to retake the 2 you passed, but if you just failed one with 49 or below, the whole thing would have to be retaken. The rule is no longer, we just have to pass within 18 months from our first passed test date.

    They won't cancel your previous exams, but they will persuade the IRS to audit your previous 3 tax returns. I hope you kept receipts.

    Wait stop. Your dad took the exam in '84 so I'm guessing he's in his early 50's and an old timer? Lol!

    ^^ I guess if you make the assumption that everyone takes the CPA exam in their early/mid 20s that would be an accurate statement.

    I know quite a few working professionals who are currently 35+ and taking/passing exams.

    He will be 60 in January, but by old timer I meant pre-computerized (not necessarily based on age, but being eligible for paper/pencil version, which only changed 10 years ago).

    41 here. I wonder if the other candidates think I am a hall monitor when I go to Prometric. LOL! What is that saying about youth being wasted on the young?
