Scheduling all 4 sections now – mistake?

Debating the merits of getting dates on the calendar for all 4 sections now. I’m hesitating because there’s a chance that something will go horribly wrong (or just normally wrong..this is the CPA exam after all) and I won’t have enough time to fit all the sections in. With that being said I need the motivation to get this done before the 2017 changes.

How disciplined are you? If very, then not a mistake. The pressure of scheduling all 4 exams could keep you on track and help you finish in a short period of time. And of course, money is on the line because you pay for all the exams up front meaning you have to take them regardless.

For most people I would suggest scheduling only 2 at a time. With 2, if you fail you can always submit another application to retake and you're only down 25-50 bucks. You will have to submit another application regardless, but at least you won't ever forfeit an exam fee due to time constraints.

scheduling all 4 means 6 months to expiration. with only 4 testable months in that time means test at beginning of jan and end of feb. beginning of april and end of may. are you working tax season or other heavy workload that would prevent this schedule.
do 2. then 2 more and 1 or both may be retakes.
i have read we have till 2nd quarter of 2017 before tests change but i have not confirmed that.

I did it. Beginning of first month, end of second, beginning of third, end of fourth and you're done.I am a good test taker and good student and had confidence I would pass on the first try. It depends on the student you are and the personal discipline. You don't have required classes you have to go to, you just have to force yourself to learn it and practice it and 6 months should be plenty. I know people in my Big 4 class that passed in 2-3 months.

    REG - 77 (10/17/15)
    BEC - 80 (11/24/15)

6 month process over just like that. So glad to be done!!!

If you think you can pass them all in 6 months two windows go ahead and apply for four on one nts. I did it and I came close to making it. But I had a death in the family and had to take one in the next window. You save money, however it is definitely risky. I am a huge procrastinator personally though so I really needed the pressure to get there.

I did it and totally regret it. I felt rushed and I had classes going on and recruiting season! it was a total nightmare….I only passed FAR. But then after the classes and recruiting season ended I got it together and passed the other 3 back to back but I paid for them one at a time.

In CA, you have nine months to take the exam instead of six.

It all depends on your discipline and your commitment level. I once paid for two exam,FAR and REG, at the same time. I sit in the FAR when I was just about 25% done on the material. I sit it merely because I paid for it and it was going to be expired. It's a little pricey for a pure test drive. For Reg, I was “No Show”. =)

Schedule one at a time. Trust me. The cost savings isn't that drastic. Stay on one until you pass. Then schedule the next one.
