    Hi Everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I will become eligible for the CPA exam in 4 weeks, so I’m in the process of looking for a CPA review course. I really like Roger’s and am planning on purchasing the full course. They have a “flash sale” for 12 hours today on their Premier Course Package. My question is, I was looking at waiting for a “flash sale” on their Elite Course Package, which includes the Cram Courses. Are the Cram Courses significantly beneficial as a supplement to the full course?

I’m already planning on purchasing the Ninja 10 point combo as a supplement to Roger’s full course, so I’m not sure if the Cram Course would be of any real benefit. I would greatly appreciate any advice or feedback.

    Thanks so much!

I'm also planning on using Roger (his enthusiasm seems to work well in my favor) when I'm eligible to sit for the exam. What material should be purchased to supplement Roger's course? I've heard that his test bank is less than exemplary.

That's a better deal than the coupon I have from them:

I haven't seen any sort of deals on their Elite course.

If you have researched and want it, I would pull the trigger.

You THE MAN, Jeff! I was hoping you would have been one to respond. I appreciate the post. I'll be stopping by your store in about 4 weeks to purchase the 10 Point Combo. Thanks again for your help, and for this tremendous site.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't spend the extra money for the CRAM. I tried it once and won't use it again. His cram course is just another book with the same information just not so detailed. I would stick to your own review and knocking out the MCQ. Plus, you already plan on doing the 10 point combo.

With the money you saved, you can essentially get the Complete Combo for an additional $250.

    Saved $600

    – Complete Combo $847 (coupon code HIYA)

    Difference: $247

I used Roger. That is a really good price for his course I would jump on it and start studying now if I were you.

I would also get the NINJA MCQ as the Roger questions are not as detailed and are somewhat easy. I used Roger's test bank for my first go at the homework for a particular section and then went to the Ninja test bank right after.

Roger is the best professor you can come across. What makes him so successful is that he is not your typical Accounting professor (nerd). I don't think he was the brightest student in his class when he was in College, I would say he has more street smarts than anything. He teaches you in a way that is very hard not to understand. He probably teaches the same way he would have loved to be thought in College, and that is the reason why he is so good at what he does. You can tell this guy has a life out of Accounting, and he would rather be clubbing than reading pronouncements. I'm sure he did acting when he was younger. The only flaw I see with Roger is his test bank. He is too cheap to get a test bank as good as Ninja's, so you can't rely on his MC questions, there are all over the place. You can't work on them until you are done with the whole chapter.

Thanks THendry & Nute! I appreciate the responses. I went ahead and purchased the Premier course and saved $600. This sale ends at 7pm (PDT) tonight for those interested.

Also, thanks again, Jeff. It's definitely a steal to essentially pickup the Complete Combo for an additional $250 (after the savings on Roger's course).

Thanks, Martin. I appreciate the info. I had heard that same thing about Roger's test bank. I will definitely be supplementing with Ninja's MCQ.

I sound like a broken record lol but I use Roger and I LOVE his teaching BUT I never ever ever would've passed either part without the Ninja MCQ. Learn from Roger….let Jeff reinforce. I'd go for ninja audio or blitz over the cram course too.

    I agree with the others…

Roger's course is fine and his enthusiasm for teaching will keep you awake some nights. I used his course and the NINJA 10pt Combo. Definitely a winning marriage of materials. Don't waste your money on cram courses. With NINJA you will get (if things haven't changed) the audio, MCQs, and notes along with some other materials. I got answers correct on my exams just because of the audio.

Roger got me through 3 exams. BEC is the only exam that I came to Ninja for help. Roger has a way of taking complex topics and simplifying them for the student…in my opinion.
