Failed FAR.. took it 1/7, got a 70. Just applied on the NASBA website for a new NTS and hope to take it by Feb 2.

    I keep reading about windows… well I thought the first window was Jan 1 – Jan 20 and then a second window Jan 21 – Feb 14, and a 3rd window Feb 15 – Feb 28.

Will I have to wait until 2nd quarter??

    January/February is the first window

    April/May is the second window

    July/August is the third window

    October/November is the fourth window

In short, yes, you will have to wait until April at the earliest for a retake.

Thanks.. I just found that out on the Nasba website.

I am getting so sick of all of this. The windows, waiting for the score release, the FEES, not getting GASB literature to use on FAR if you get a GASB sim. UGH UGH UGH!

Keep your head up and keep plugging along. I ended up losing FAR and had to retake it in addition to passing AUD and BEC. For me, BEC was the beast. You can do this!

Funny, this morning I scheduled BEC for April 7 thinking I would get a new NTS and schedule the FAR retake for the end of Feb. I took a random BEC test and got 6/10.. not too bad with no studying but I did graduate with a econ minor.

Now, I'm hope to slipping BEC in before Feb 28 and then retake FAR in April.

A positive attitude also makes a huge difference!! That's what got me to finally get my sh*t together and pass Audit! Good luck!!

    BEC - PASS (79)
    AUD - PASS (63, 71, 74, 74, 83)
    REG - PASS (88)
    FAR - PASS (58, 89)

Becker for all + FAR 10 Point Combo

The timing is frustrating. Before I got serious about studying for and taking the exam, I used to think nobody had any business needing longer than 18 months to pass 4 exams. But now I understand how the testing windows and limitations on when you can retake a failed exam can really slow you down, especially if you're working full-time. It sucks that if you take an exam early in a testing window, you can't take it again for essentially 3 months. And by the time you learn whether or not you passed, you're already a month into studying for another test. By the time you take THAT test and get back to studying for the one you failed, you've probably forgotten a lot of the material and have to spend another 2 months relearning it.

I've never seen any explanation as to why you can't retake an exam in the same window, but I would imagine they probably use a certain test bank for each window, and they don't want you basically taking a practice run on the first day of the window, studying the areas you struggled with until you get your score, and then going back and getting a lot of the same questions you've already seen. This would seem to parallel their reasoning for making you reapply for a new window if you exit out of your exam too early by mistake.
