I am working on reg sims. Are the ninja sims comparable to the exam?

    FAR - JULY 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - MAY 2015 - PASSED
    REG - AUG 2015 - PASSED
    AUD - AUG 31 2015

In my opinion, REG sims are really difficult compared to NINJA Sims (Becker Sims is a joke!). I was shocked looking at my Sims going omg I can't believe they asked me this. In my opinion nothing will really prepare you for the real thing. Just try to be really familiar with the research function. More likely than not you will have to utilize it to find the answer. Be familiar with the advanced search function as well as the subchapters and chapters of IRC. If you try to search using word and nothing relevant comes up, drill down from the IRC code and hopefully you will find what you were looking for. Good luck! Reg is a beast!

And leave plenty of time for sims. I budgeted 1:30 hrs and barely finish them.

    BEC 87 8/24/15
    FAR 10/19/15
    AUD 11/30/15

Those SIMS are out of this world. Your time is best spent on doing MCQs and understanding every tax based concepts and questions you see. The IRC was no help to me during my exam, but I've heard differently from others, so familiarize yourself with that.

    Good Luck!

    A - 2/2/15 - 76: PASSED
    B - 7/20/15 - 74, 73
    R - 7/24/15 - patiently waiting for 8/25 score release
    F - sometime in October

Odds are that you will get a sim that you have never practiced before. Honestly I wouldn't even bother practicing them. I didn't practice them at all, and I still passed REG. I know some people will disagree with me on this. You need to be religious with the MCQs though. Understanding those MCQs will get you through the sims. The only thing I would recommend with the sims at all is to make sure you understand how to use the search function (seriously) because it's not as straightforward as you might think.

I also got REG tomorrow morning (GOOD Luck Btw). I am also incredibly worried, paranoid, and terrified of the SIMS. Everyone says they are a killer. I feel comfortable (knock on wood) with most of the tax topics. I struggle with some BLaw topics, and liability relating to the 1933/1934 acts.

    FAR 5/6/2015- 84
    REG 8/3/2015 - 87
    AUD 10/25/2015- 69 1/20/2016 -75
    BEC 2/26/2016- 80

    Thank you God

Woo, I'm glad people are saying to not stress on practicing the sims. I'm using them to understand how to use the research function, but other then that I've mostly moved on – just because I feel like if I can “get” the MCQs and information that's what will best prepare me for sims.

Good luck for everyone taking it! I still have a few weeks to be sick to my stomach and stress over it. 🙂

    Two words – Gleim SIMS.

I like Ninja products and bought Ninja MCQs/SIMs/Audio/Notes for most of the sections, but for REG, Gleim SIMs prepare you much better than Ninja, WTB, or CPAExcel. I am assuming it will be the same experience for the other sections…

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...
