How to handle this first 2 chapters? It has so many miniature details. I am not doing good on those. How to handle this 2 chapters in particular? Does any one have any sort of notes, sheets, handy?

Are you taking Becker? I just started in class REG study this past Saturday with Becker, don't know if the R prefix is unique to Becker or generally used.

I found R1 fairly easy. I made a couple of flash cards. I don't know if it helped that I took CTEC courses to do personal taxes, recently. It is a lot of what you would learn at HR Block. The focus seemed to be capitalized inventory and passive income.

I am having a little more trouble with R2, I am trying to make flash cards, but I feel like it is taking too much time. The hardest part about R2 seems to be the limits and phase-out calcs. I am going to start doing the MCQs soon.

Yes, I am using Becker, I never ever took any sort of such training classes, but have heard from couple of my friends that HnR blocks training helps. Yes, R2 is bit more complex than R1 and I am also confused with those Phase out numbers… 🙁

@no one haha yea I remember seeing your username pop up here and there. Wish I felt a little better about REG but honestly I don't. I've been studying since about March 15th and just pushed back my REG exam. I had it scheduled for 5/4 and now its 5/14. So ready to be done and enjoy my summer. Do you have ninja as well? Do you have REG scheduled?

No I have never ever tried Ninja..Thinking to use for this last BEAST…Do you have? How is your experience with it? Have you ever used for any other tests? So far I have just used BECKER for all 3 tests…and luckily I was always in bubble 🙂

Yes, I have scheduled my test initially for 5/21 but pushed back to 5/29, My son fell really sick and after that he passed that to me so couldn't study at all for 2 weeks…Running behind schedule. I am also studying since 3/15 but very very slow….Snail is faster than me.

haha, yeah I have used ninja mcq for all the sections. I do feel that it does help open your eyes to different questions and for the price it's worth it. I have gone through all of Becker and now focusing on ninja mcq. But I will revert back to Becker soon. Have you attempted the REG sims yet?

@no_one — I think we are going to have to memorize the fundamental numbers like what AGI % is deducted for what and phase-out limits 🙁 hopefully it is easy to memorize with the MCQs

@MALoTu Yeah that part I understand % of AGI and deduction amounts I am more worried about those ranges 🙁

@CPA8488 Nop, Generally I have a habit of doing all the chapters and MCQs in first review, second time I go through MCQs and Sims so not a single SIMS yet..But yes, heard pretty good haunting reviews about REG SIMS….uuuuuuu here I COME types… 🙂

You should consider printing out the Form 1040 (Individual Taxation) and schedules that feed figures into this Form 1040 so you can see where they are and how they hop from one line to another. Schdules A – F are all relevant. Schedule A and C are the most popular in my opinion. Know the AGI limits. Know what AGI is and what Itemized Deductions are. Know the different type of filing statuses. Know the refundable and nonrefundable credits. This is the core stuff. Review the other little weird stuff on your second review or pass of the MCQ's. This seemed to work for me.

    AUD 93 (5/14)
    FARE 80 (8/14)
    BEC 77 (11/14)
    REG 81 (4/15)
