This isn’t related to the CPA test, but maybe someone can help. I had a question from someone at work. We all work in corporate accounting so I do not know the answer but everyone asks me because I am trying to get my CPA…

Her husband is trying to get disability because of cancer, but he has been self employed. He doesn’t usually pay self employment taxes into social security because they have a loss on the business most years. Is it possible to now pay back around five years of social security? Can she pay into social security now? They have not paid enough into social security.
