Hi,
So I am planning to leave my job either before or after tax season hopefully. I have applied to the IRS and hopefully will hear back from them. Given its the government I dont expect any early notification but according to the job post it has an anticipated start date on March 19, 2019. Hypothetically, I get the job how should I go about the resignation? I would hate to leave before the tax season ends.. I mean my game plan is to let HR of IRS knows I would like to complete April 15 deadlines first and I’m not sure if they will allow this? But if they do allow a certain timeframe extension when should I give the 2 weeks? If I were to leave right after the deadline that means I should give the 2 weeks around April 3-4 but I feel like that would be nuts and leave a bad impression during the peak period to bother my team partner. Also, if interviews do happen during jan-april, how should I plan things around? Sorry for all these dumb questions but I just want to play all the right cards and not have a bad rep. Im just not sure how common it is to find jobs during busy season since we work 10-12 hours a day already..This is my first job that I will be leaving from- if this does happen. I do not want to burn any bridges and leave a bad impression. Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated.
