This is going to be a semi-long rant, but I am hoping there is someone out there who had a similar issue or could shed some insight into what happened today. FYI – I hope no one has to ever go through what I went through today!!
SO… Here’s what happened.
I get to prometric, do the usual security stuff and get to my computer station.
As soon as I verify my picture, my computer immediately shut downs. Panic sets in… In my head I’m think ‘WTF my time is expiring!’. Like an idiot i start waving my hand hoping that the exam procter will come and help me. After about a minute of doing that, I walk out and tell the procter what happened. She send someone in, the compute is faulty.
So after 15 minutes she assigned me to a new station. I ask her if there will be any issues and she told me there would be no issues changing computers. I entered my launch code and it took me straight to the Simulation Section. I thought that was really weird but I did not think it was an issue since it said Testlet 1 of 4 at the top of the screen. I thought they may have changed the structure or I could have been a guinea pig. Looking back, I probably should have notified someone.
Anyway, I get through with that section and once I finished that section after about one hour, I pressed ‘Continue’ and it tells me I have completed the exam even though I did not even see the first 3 sections of the exam. I start panicking, but I immediately notified the proctor hoping that she could get my exam going again. She called the Prometric technical support while I’m sitting at my station twiddling my thumbs. When she finally gets a hold of someone after about 20 minutes, my exam had shut off. The prometric agent was unable to help and referred me to email candidate care and there was nothing more they could do.
I am at a loss for words and have no idea what to do. I already emailed NASBA and am planning to call them on sunday. Has this ever happened to anyone?? Any advice on what I should do would greatly be appreciated.
Whats really frustrating is that I did not intend to skip the MCQ, did not consent to skipping the MCQ and I felt totally prepared to take this section today. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
