So, I have to give a presentation to my internal audit department about fraud. Since it’s supposed to be an hour long, I want to get people involved in some way to eat up a little bit of time. Any ideas for meaningful audience involvement related to fraud? Thanks!

Maybe you can have a bunch of power point slides with examples of fraud, and instead of pointing out what the issue is you can have people try to discuss the problem with each scenario. Try to come up with some examples where the fraud is less obvious. An hour presentation sounds brutal.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Present the two types of fraud (financial statement and misappropriation of assets) have them discuss the areas in your company which are susceptible to both. ie: What pressures might encourage financial fraud (bonus tied to revenue?) or theft (expensive items? expensive prototypes? etc).

Those are both awesome ideas! I'm definitely going to use both of them. I know, an hour long presentation is worse than college. I thought it was only going to be like 20 minutes!
