    Hello All,

So I retake AUD on Jan 12. I’ve been in this situation before with a FAR retake and had success passing my 2nd time. But I must say my study approach with AUD retake is quite different from FAR. With FAR I re-read the entire Becker book and made new notes, along with re-doing all of the MCQs and SIMs. Reading the FAR material really helped me nail home a lot of the concepts I was missing the first time around. However, with AUD when I re-read the book I really feel like I’m not picking up anything new and it just feels like a waste of time. So because of this, I bought Ninja AUD MCQs to supplement Becker and have worked probably over 2000 MCQs since my first exam and have been practicing SIMs and using the AL. This is what my gut tells me is working best for me, but a part of me also feels like I should also be reading and getting into the nitty-gritty of it.

Can anyone relate to this? Different study approaches for different re-takes? I honestly felt like I knew the material the first time around and failed, but feeling like I have a little better grip on it now. This exam is a confusing one.

When I retook AUD my second time I just watched ROGER videos, did his questions, and NINJA MCQ. Studied far less then I did the first time around. Thought I had a better understanding then the first time around and was pretty confident going in. Obviously from my scores I scored a point less then the first time around. Discouraging, yes, but I have the knowledge to pass it just have to do some things different. I'd say just try to understand what the question is really asking because AUD is designed to trick you and I still make stupid mistakes when I read the question and answers and get tripped up on vocabulary (not audit vocabulary but some words that they use) and I choose the wrong answer because I have no clue what it's asking or get POed because of how ridiculous it is.

I tell myself that I need to get 75 points, so I need to study and understand as much as I did last time, plus 2 points. Its easy to think “I just need 2 more points so I won't study as much” but that not the case. Its like I'm starting from scratch and need 75 points.

I'm really focusing on understanding. Taking my time and understanding why each MC answer is right or wrong and making notes of what I don't understand so I can go back and dive into the subject deeper.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Looks like we are all in a similar boat. Its tricky because based off of our scores the knowledge IS there, but I think you both are right that you gotta make sure you are interpreting the question correctly. This exam is frustrating!

If anyone else has anything to share I would love to hear it.

I took my AUD exam in November and received a score of 73, I started my NINJA MCQ over and have an average score of 78 and trending at 80 with about 1100 questions completed (no repeated questions). Ive put around 25 additional hours into studying since my fail. Anyone care to share what they are averaging/trending? I retake my exam January 6th.

When I retook the AUD . I did the exactly same thing as you did for the FAR,
I watched all the video's again and took the notes on important points , read the entire book ,and did two times wiley book mcq's and not all but lots of ninja mcq, this took my score from 71 to 83.

@Dave71 – I started fresh with Ninja MCQ (used wiley on my first try) I've attempted 1055 MCQs (with lots of repeats), average score: 79% trending: 79.5% I've put in almost 40 hours so far of additional studying since my first attempt – only 13 of those hours on MCQs the rest on watching videos, reading, note taking, and rewriting notes.

You're doing what I did for my retake in AUD. I raised my score from a 72 to an 87 redoing all the Becker MCs and lectures once, then getting through every single Ninja MCQ. For Ninja I think it's important to try and get each question right atleast once. They seem to get more difficult the deeper you go so you want to try and get through them all.

That is quite a jump! What was your average trending score on NINJA going into your retake?

I had to look this one up…

    questions not answered correctly. 0
    Questions not seen 0
    Total attempts. 2226
    Average score. 76%
    Average trending score. 100.00%
    Total time. 36:24

You get a higher trending by getting through more questions answered correctly. Do whatever you can to hit the review stage. It sucks, and at times I thought it wasn't possible or necessary, but worth it in the end.
