Can't your vendor put a system control in place forcing a category to be chosen? I'm sure you already thought of that, so I apologize for beating a dead horse. It just seems like a lot of human hours are being expended here.

That's my bad. I've never seen a forum system setup the way this one is. I've never noticed all of the forums at the bottom until just now; I've always just seen the long list of threads under “Latest Discussions” and it looked like all threads went there.
