Just browsing around the NASBA website when I encountered a terrible note.

“Some candidates who take the BEC section might receive their scores about one week following the target release date due to additional analysis that might be required for the written communication tasks.”

How true is this statement??? Has anyone got their score back a little later due to the extra grading of the written communication???

    Appreciate the help.

Yes that is very true. It is called the “bubble” there is tons of threads about that. It didn't happened to me this last time on my retake but the first time i took it i believe i received my score a week later. It sucks but you there is nothing you can do about it.

It's for people with borderline scores, I think 74-76 just to make sure the writing part isn't a deal breaker. If it's anything like your previous scores you'll get it on time.

Yes Mla is right this only happens to people with borderline scores. That time i had to wait an extra week for my score, i got a 74.

I went through the “trial by bubble” as well. Scores posted on Wednesday and I had to wait until the following Monday, I think. Passed with a 77.

I got a 75 on mine, but I didn't have to wait a week. I'm wondering if there is some additional criteria for who meets the bubble? Like maybe I nailed the MCQ and did mediocre on the writing so I wasn't stuck in the bubble? IDK.

Before I quit the CPA in 2012 I passed BEC with a 77 and I didn't have to wait. I've heard that “the bubble” is 72-78 and that it also has to do with how close to the cutoff you are for the score release window. They may need more time to grade if you're just close to the end of the window. (I don't know this for sure, just stuff that I've heard.)

    I'm waiting for my BEC score 12/9 too… :-\
